The sequel to Song for Jo.

PENN STREET (MOVIN' ALONG)
Spring 1983, Bryn Mawr PA

I caught that last yawn; it's gettin' near dawn
Guess it's about that time; thanks for the wine
The fact that we're friends, since we've made some amends
Is a definite pleasure to me
Now we see eye to eye, and we've both made the try
There's a reason to like being free

I'm glad for these moments together
God knows that it took us a while
To talk of small things, like the weather
And to joke with each other in style

Yes, it's been a very good stay; here's hopin' that it's always that way
But the earliest light's on the sill; hand me my scarf, if you will
I guess I'll be movin' along...

Well, your coffee's near frozen; I just caught you dozin'
You're rubbin' your eyes; there's snow in the sky
It's warm in this place, and the smile on your face
Tells me there are no feelings of doubt
Understanding each other, as long as we bother
Is really just all it's about

And I'm happy that we've both been able
In spite of the sadness we've known
To lay all our cards on the table
And to realize how much we've grown

My friend, it's been a wonderful night; it's so nice to have things work out right
Now the road can barely be seen, 'neath a carpet of snow, new and clean
So... kiss me once more, and then show me the door
And I guess I'll be movin' along...
      Movin' along...
