LAUGHIN' EYES
Spring 1985, New York NY

There she stood in the sun, looking like one of many dreams I've had
I wasn't sure she was real, so I asked her to pinch me
To my surprise, she obliged, and that's when I simply lost control
I got back to the ground, but she wasn't around...
Ever since that day, I been searchin' high and low
Somehow she slipped away - now where did that lady go?

I know she's somewhere... in New York City...
I'll find her pretty face, if it's the last thing I do
I know she's somewhere... in New York City...
Only an idiot like me would even make the try!
I know she's somewhere... within this big old town
I'll never stop! I'll track her down until I catch those laughin' eyes
Until I catch those laughin' eyes...

Weeks went by and then I thought I saw her in an uptown sushi bar
I wasn't sure it was her, so I tapped on her shoulder
Oops! Wrong girl! But as long as I'm here, I guess I'll join ya for the meal
Thanks again for the tekka maki, but I gotta go...
Ever since that day, I been lookin' out and in
She's the big one that got away but I... will see her again

I been up and down ev'ry street and avenue
I've looked in a million pairs of eyes
I don't know if you're out there, but I'll know when I find you
That light all around you just won't lie...

I know you're somewhere... in New York City...
I'll find your pretty face, if it's the last thing I do
I know you're somewhere... in New York City...
Only an idiot like me would even make the try!
I know you're somewhere... within this crazy town
I'll never stop! I'll track you down until I catch those laughin' eyes
Until I catch those laughin' eyes... Until I catch those laughin' eyes
Until I catch those laughin' eyes
