Don't miss the irony here! This is the anthem of the religious man - the modern day Pharisee - who wants Jesus to be part of his life without actually surrendering his life completely and following Him steadfastly.

"Once saved, always saved" is not a Biblical teaching, and adherents to this false doctrine do not have a saving faith.

Many people are proud of the presence of a Bible in their homes, but have never once opened it, much less read and applied it. They live in ignorance, clueless as to its power to teach us God's will.

Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. "If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you."
    John 8:31, 32 (The Message)

I'M OKAY
Summer 2003, Denver CO

I believe there is good in ev'ryone
And I'm afraid that there might be evil
I believe there's a God up in the sky
And I suppose He's watchin' it all

I believe that the Bible is inspired
There it is, on the coffee table
And I believe that our Lord was crucified
here He is, hangin' on my wall

So how can you say to me
I'm so blind but some day I'll see
You keep sayin' "hold to the truth, and it'll set you free"
I am already saved, and I know I'm okay...

I believe in sendin' kids to Sunday School
And sayin' grace before ev'ry meal
And I believe Jesus died for you and me
I go to church on Sunday when I can

I believe there's a Heaven up above
But I don't think God created Hell
I believe in His unjudgmental love
I'm proud to be a basic'ly good man

So how can you say to me
I'm so blind but some day I'll see
You keep sayin' "hold to the truth, and it'll set you free"
I am already saved, and I know I'm okay...
