My reaction to the "gospel" of health, wealth
and longevity promoted by the new age movement.

FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH
Summer 2004, Denver CO

What's goin' on, my old friend
I haven't seen you since God knows when
You're lookin' good - what you got goin'
Does the inside look as fine as what's showin'
The mystery of age - you think you cracked it
You may not look it, and man, you don't act it
Potions and lotions and stars up above
Can't take the place of a heart full of love

Tell me what's new, old friend of mine
We haven't spoken in quite some time
You've found the key to life forever
Take no offense, bro, you're not that clever
What you proclaim as pure salvation
Is merely a whim of your imagination
Trust, if you must, in your magic brew
You're gonna die when it's time for you

Down in your fountain - fountain of youth
Swim in superstition - drown in your wishin' well
Up on my mountain - mountain of truth
I can see forever - all the way from Heaven to Hell

Ev'rybody has the answer - but no one has a clue
Madness grows like a cancer - now it's growin' on you
What you try to hand me - you don't understand me
You can't keep your silly new-age promises
You're under a spell - I wonder if you can tell
This junk that you sell just isn't real

Down in your fountain - fountain of youth
Swim in superstition - drown in your wishin' well
Up on my mountain - mountain of truth
I can see forever - all the way from Heaven to Hell
